A short look at how ARRI Master primes perform against Zeiss Mk3 Superspeeds in low/available only light. We were particularly interested in looking at focus breathing, sharpness and contrast and lens flare when both ranges were wide open at T1.3.No post corrections. In camera Rec709 applied only. We took delivery of our first Arri Amira, and chose Venice as an interesting venue to really test if this is a camera for documentary. We travelled with minimal equipment to reflect a single user shoot for quick gathering of coverage, depending as much as possible on what was available in camera. For example no matte box as we relied on the in camera ND filtration.The images are all natural/available light and have not been treated in post as we wanted to get to know the in camera grading features.
